Generous
Sun City residents donated $11,736 to the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle
campaign during the holiday season.
The monies are used to provide holiday meals and lodging as well
as toys for the children of impoverished families.
The Kiwanis Club of Sun City Georgetown partnered with the
Salvation Army by coordinating the project.
Over 100 residents rang the bell at City Market, who allowed
us to locate the Red Kettle on their porch.
About one quarter
of the bell ringers were Sun City residents who are
not Kiwanians, but volunteered in the spirit of the season.
Many organizations supported the efforts including the
Georgettes, the Woodshop, the Havorah Shalom congregation,
the Hunting and Fishing Club, and many others.
See you again next year!
